12F338 - 3Ø 13' Double Alley Arm Tangent

Note: This standard has been updated with a fiberglass crossarm but the drawing has yet to be updated.
- Minimum 7’-0” for poles up to 45’ in height. Increase spacing to 8’-0” for poles 50’ and taller.
- Down guy(s) may be omitted on tangent poles with no large unbalanced power or communication attachments if the following steps are taken to avoid excessive pole deflection.
- Increase pole setting depth a minimum of 10% of length + 4 feet.
- Install expanding pole keys per Compatible Unit PF0100.
- Backfill with crushed rock tamped in 6" lifts.
- Rake the pole away from the line as follows:
Max Wire Size: #2 ACSR, Rake: 2"
Max Wire Size: 336.4 kcmil, Rake: 4"
Down guy(s) or self-supporting poles are required for 795 kcmil alley arm framing.
- Refer to T&D Guideline 4-23-1.0 for allowable construction angles.
