D0505INT - 15kV 600A 3Ø Gang-Operated Inertia Unitized Switch

Notes:
- The Inertia 15kV gang switch is configured with two phases left of the pole and one phase right. In certain locations this phase arrangement may be preferable to the S&C 15kV gang switch which has two phases right of the pole and one phase left. See Compatible Unit D0505SC for more details.
- Refer to Assembly Unit 12F713 for additional details on switch mounting preferences.
- Ground switch control handle with single ground plate or ground rod. Refer to Compatible Unit N0101 or Compatible Unit N0110. Connect switch control handle mounting bolt to ground wire per Figure 1.
- Switch is packaged with enough control rod, guide bearings and couplings for installations up to 40' above grade. Maximum installation height is 70' above grade. For extra control rod extension materials refer to Compatible Unit D0506INT. For a replacement control handle (per Fig. 1) use MID 5000091.
- Use toggle guides to guide the control rod. DA bolts and eye nuts may be used as an alternative. The toggle guide shall be installed at a 45° degree angle while the switch is in the closed position. Nominal support guides spacing should be 5'.
- Switch handle and operating rod may be positioned anywhere within 90° clockwise of the pole face. Switch handle and operating rod should be installed so as to minimize hazards to the operator and avoid conflicts with other pole mounted equipment.
- When deadending on switch arm, maximum allowable deadend loading is 1,000 lb/Ø and maximum allowable double deadend loading is 12,000 lb/Ø.
