Notes:
- Refer to Compatible Unit Section B for transformer compatible units.
- Ground plates are preferred for grounding installed during vault installation. Use ground rods for grounding vaults that are already set and backfilled, refer to C.U. page N0303-N0304.
- Two grounds are required for end of lateral vaults and j-box vaults; refer to C.U.'s N0302 (2-ground plates) and N0304 (2-ground rods).
- A ground plate must be installed a minimum of 5' deep to be considered a made electrode suitable for grounding equipment such as transformers and j-boxes. Cover the ground plate with tamped select backfill. If vault is to be backfilled with gravel or sand, bury the ground plate below the backfill or install 5/8" x 8' ground rod(s) per N0303 (1-ground rod) or N0304 (2-ground rods).
