1L903 (Obsolete) Street Light Handhole Installation Service for Customer Owned Residential Street Light

Revision 0
Sep 20, 2012

Notes:

  1. This Assembly Unit is intended for retrofitting customer owned street light conductors with a NEC compliant disconnecting means.
This Assembly is only to be used at the direction of the District's Lighting Engineer.
  2. Fuseholder(s) are to be installed inside the handhole. Leave enough slack conductor to allow for removing them.
  3. Attach the "Alternative Wiring" tag to the line side street light conductors just below the fuseholders.
  4. For 240 volt systems use 2 fuses and 2 hot leg fuseholders (Compatible Unit E0101).
  5. The preferred method of extending 2” rigid PVC street lighting conduit up into a handhole is to install a short section of 2” corrugated flexible PVC conduit on each end. Use of 2” rigid PVC bends (Compatible Unit F0602) is an acceptable alternate method.
  6. Do not energize the #8 duplex street light feed until the lighting system is inspected and approved by the local inspecting authority.
Ownership of the lighting handhole (Compatible Unit V0106) will be transferred to the municipality after the street light system is inspected and energized.
