- Identifier plates are intended for use in marking switch numbers for switches installed directly on overhead line conductors, e.g., in-line switches (D0508 & D0509) and line tap switches (D0520).
- The assigned switch number should be applied on both sides of an identifier plate using the 2" wide x 3.5" high reflective white-on-black adhesive-backed labels listed below:
Character MID 0 387151 1 387169 2 387177 3 387185 4 387193 5 387200 6 or 9 387218 7 387226 8 387234 Hyphen 387549 - Install one switch number identifier plate for each 3Ø in-line and line tap switch installation. For consistency, an identifier plate should be installed on the center phase conductor approximately 18-24 inches from the end of the center phase switch on the side of the switch away from the associated pole.
- The wedge connector, which is preattached to the identifier plate, requires a yellow cartridge (MID 212283) for installation and a blue cartridge (MID 212291) for removal.
