Notes:

  1. Line tap switches are intended for use on underground power cable terminal poles where space is not available for underarm disconnect switches.
  2. Line tap switches are installed with powder actuated wedge connectors (two per switch).
    Refer to the table below for the appropriate wedge connector based on overhead conductor size:
    4/0 Cu MHD — Z0647
    336.4 AAC — Z0639 or Z0640
    336.4 ACSR — Z0639
    795 AAC — Z0651 or Z0653
    795 ACSR — Z0651
    Do not use line tap switches on conductor smaller than 4/0.
  3. Specify one hanging switch number identifier plate for each 3Ø installation of line tap switches. See W0207 (336.4 AAC) and W0208 (795 AAC) for identifier plates and numeric labels with which to create switch numbers.
