- Secondary termination cabinets are used for connecting customer owned and District owned secondary cables. Refer to ESR Section 4 for application guidelines.
- The allowable conductor size range for terminating in these cabinets is #2 - 750 kcmil.
- Source conductors should be terminated in the center of the buss bars, and load conductors should be evenly distributed/terminated in the buss bars on both sides of the source conductors.
- Refer to Compatible Units V0220 - V0221 for secondary termination cabinet vaults.
- Refer to ESR Section 4.N. for grounding guidelines. Two ground rods (or two ground plates) and 1/0 AWG stranded bare copper wire are required to ground all secondary termination cabinets. Ground rods (or ground plates) shall be installed a minimum of 6 ft apart.
- Each cabinet has a door and requires two locks. Disposable padlocks (MID 412651) are included with each Compatible Unit. District P-key locks (MID 1000750) may also be used when the cabinet must be opened frequently.
- Each door is hinged on the left for Compatible Unit T1550. Compatible Unit T1551 has two mating doors per side.
