Notes:

  1. Wrap ground plate around pole next to pole butt and attach with 3-1/2" galvanized nails. Ground plate must be installed a minimum of 5' deep to be considered a made electrode suitable for grounding equipment such as transformers. Cover plate with tamped select backfill. If pole is to be backfilled with gravel or rocks bury plate below backfill or install a 5/8" ground rod per Compatible Unit N0101.
  2. Install grounding tag at eye level next to ground wire molding. This tag signifies the pole is grounded per NESC Article 094.
  3. Place the ground wire on the same side of the pole as the neutral conductor and in the quadrant outside of the climbing space.
  4. Staple Copperweld ground wire to pole every 6” for first 8’ above ground. Staple ground wire every 2’ from 8’ above ground to neutral. Staple ground wire molding every 1’.
  5. This Compatible Unit may be used in areas of high soil resistivity of provide reduced ground resistance over a single ground plate or rod.
