1. Scope
This Specification applies to flat-surfaced, aluminum-backed, reflective tags and their polyethylene holders as illustrated above in Figures 1 and 2. The tags shall be designed for permanent outdoor application..
3. Material ID Numbers

3. Size
Tags shall be 3-3/4" high x 2-1/2” wide. Letter and Number legend shall be centered on tag and printed 3” high with a tolerance of ± 1/8". Dash legend shall be centered on label and shall be 1/2" high x 1-3/4" wide with a tolerance of -1/16"/ + 1/8". Each tag shall have four 1/8" diameter holes, one in each corner, centered 3/16" from each edge.
Holder shall be 3-7/8” high x 21” long and able to hold securely, in a horizontal configuration, eight slip-in tags, as described in this Specification. Tolerance on the height of the holder shall be + 1/16” / - 1/32”. Tolerance on the length of the holder shall be + 1” / -1/4”. Holder shall be equipped with mounting holes or slots in each corner. Mounting holes or slots shall be centered 5/8” from each end. Mounting holes and slots shall be a nominal 1/8” wide with a tolerance of + 0" / -1/32".
"UG FEEDS OH" tag shall consist of a holder as described above, 3-7/8” high x 24-1/2” long, preassembled with tags reading "UG FEEDS OH" (see Figure 3). Tags shall be held securely but shall be removable to allow reversal of "OH" and "UG" tags.
4. Font
Copy legend shall be Helvetica-Narrow Bold.
5. Color
Tags shall be UV-resistant yellow reflective background with black copy.
Holders shall be black.
6. Clear Coat
Tags shall be overcoated with a durable clear UV-resistant enamel for maximum life and high reflective qualities.
7. Material
Tags shall be made of 3M engineering grade Scotchlite materials, or District approved equal, and laminated to an aluminum substrate, 0.025” to 0.040” thick.
Holders shall be made of black, UV-resistant polyethylene.
8. Outdoor Durability
Ten years minimum, with vertical exterior exposure.
9. Solvent Resistance
Resistant to degradation by petroleum solvents and greases.
10. Applied Performance Range
Minus 30°F to plus 110°F.
11. Humidity Resistance
500 hours at 90% relative humidity.
12. Identification
Each box shall be marked with the manufacturer’s name or logo and the date of production.
13. Packaging
Tags shall be packaged to protect them from moisture and dirt in Zip-Lock type resealable, clear polyethylene bags(10 tags per bag).
Tag holders shall be packaged 50 tags per box.
"UG FEEDS OH" shall be packaged 10 tags and holders per box.
