1. Scope

This specification applies to flat-surfaced, Hot Stick Test decal similar to the illustrated example. These decals shall be designed for attachment to live line tools.

2. Material and Tag Requirements

Decal material shall be a 2 mil White Mylar. A clear 2 mil Mylar laminating flap shall be included as shown.

3. Adhesion

Finished decals shall include a pressure sensitive adhesive backing. Decals must be suitable for application without the necessity of additional adhesive coats on the label or application surface and without the use of water, solvents, or heat.

4. Film Flammability

Material shall be self-extinguishing.

5. Size

Decal shall be 1-5/8" high x 2-1/8" wide, with a tolerance of +/- 1/32". Corners shall be a .125" radius.

6. Color

The front of the decal shall be white with black copy text.

7. Font

Font shall be Helvetica-Narrow Bold, or District approved equivalent. Year and Month information text shall be 8 pt font. All other text shall be 10 pt font.

8. Packaging

Finished decals shall be packaged in a way to protect them from moisture and dirt in Zip-Lock type resealable, clear polyethylene bags (50 decals per bag). Each bag shall be marked with the date of production and the manufacturer's name or logo.

9. Proof Drawing

When requested, the supplier of the decal shall provide a proof drawing for approval by the District's Standards Group before proceeding to produce the first order.
