1. Scope

This specification applies to the flat-surfaced baked enamel sign with smooth, rounded corners as illustrated above.
This sign will be used outdoors attached to various surfaces.

2. Size

Sign shall be 18” tall x 12” wide.

3. Industry Standard Compliance

All coloring, text and symbols shall meet the requirements of ANSI Z535, latest revision.

4. Color

The sign shall be two colors. Text copy shall be black on white background. District logo shall have white reversed out copy on top and bottom black bars with Pantone #340 green PUD between bars.

5. Material

Signs shall be made of durable, weather-resistant 0.080” thick aluminum with a white baked enamel UV resistant finish. The sign material and inks shall be UV inhibited. Each sign shall have six 0.25" mounting holes, one at the top center, one at the bottom center and one on each corner. Each hole shall be spaced 1", edge to edge, from the top, bottom and each edge of the sign as illustrated above. All edges of each sign including the mounting holes shall be smooth and free of sharp edges or burrs.

6. Outdoor Durability

Fifteen years minimum, with exterior exposure.

7. Solvent Resistance

Sign shall be resistant to degradation by petroleum solvents and greases.

8. Storage Stability

Fifteen years minimum under normal storage conditions (75° F, 50% relative humidity). Material must be mildew resistant.

9. Identification

The manufacturer’s name or logo and the date of production shall be clearly marked along the bottom left edge of each sign. The District's part number 1002879 shall be clearly marked along the bottom right edge of each sign. Markings shall be in a small legible font so as not to detract from the sign's message. Refer to the illustration on page 1 for the required locations for those markings.

10. Packaging

Signs shall be sufficiently packaged to protect them from damage and abrasion during shipping and handling.
