1. Scope

This specification applies to the fl at-surfaced sign with smooth, rounded corners as illustrated below. This sign will be used outdoors attached to various surfaces.

2. Size

Sign shall be 12” tall x 18” wide.

3. Industry Standard Compliance

All coloring, text and symbols shall meet the requirements of ANSI Z535, latest revision.

4. Color

UV inhibited black opaque background with yellow refl ective reversed out copy (3M 680-71 in color).

5. Material

Signs shall be made of durable, weather-resistant 0.080” thick raw aluminum. All edges of each sign shall be smooth and free of sharp edges or burrs. The sign material (3M 680-71) and inks shall be UV inhibited. Each sign shall have one 0.25" mounting hole at each corner. The holes shall be spaced 0.75" from each outside edge as illustrated below.

6. Surface Protection

Sign shall be overcoated with a clear, tough polyester overlaminate film (3M Scotchgard 8991) for added surface protection from UV, abrasion and grafitti.

7. Outdoor Durability

Eight years minimum, with exterior exposure.

8. Storage Stability

Ten years minimum under normal storage conditions (75° F, 50% relative humidity). Material must be mildew resistant.
