1. Scope

This specification applies to flat-surfaced, aluminum signs with pressure-sensitive, adhesive-backed sheeting as illustrated above. These signs will be used outdoors on chainlink fencing and various surfaces.

2. Size

Sign shall be 14" wide x 10" high.

3. Font

Copy legend shall be Helvetica Narrow Bold, or District approved equivalent.

4. Industry Standard Compliance

All coloring, text and symbols shall meet the requirements of ANSI Z535, latest revision.

5. Color

The sign shall be two colors, all colors shall be UV resistant. The signal word panel shall have white letters on a transparent safety red background with a transparent safety red exclamation mark. The electric shock symbol on the body shall be in white. Text copy "HAZARDOUS VOLTAGE ABOVE" and "KEEP OFF" shall be transparent safety red. All remaining text copy and symbols shall be in black.

6. Material

3M 7300 White Reflective Engineering Grade Sheeting, laminated to a 0.04" aluminum backing. Sign shall have 4 thru holes 1/8" in diameter spaced 1/2" from the edge of the sign to the center of the hole as illustrated above. Each corner of of the sign shall have a .750" radius. Aluminum backing plate, including holes, shall have no protrusions, sharp edges or corners.

7. Effective Sheeting Performance Life

Seven years with vertical exterior exposure.

8. Sheeting Adhesion

5 lb/in at 77°F.

9. Minimum Sheeting Application Temperature

65°F.

10. Applied Sheeting Performance Range

-30° to + 200°F.

11. Identification

The manufacturer’s name or logo and the date of production shall be clearly marked along the bottom left edge of each sign. The District's part number 1001949 shall be clearly marked along the bottom right edge of each sign. Markings shall be in a small legible font so as not to detract from the sign's message. Refer to the illustration on page 1 for the required locations for those markings.

12. Packaging

Signs shall be packaged to protect them from moisture and dirt during shipping and handling.
