1. Scope

This specification applies to the flat-surfaced embedded fiberglass sign with smooth, routed polished edges as illustrated in Figure 1 below. This sign will be used indoors and outdoors on various surfaces.

2. Size

Sign shall be 10" tall x 14" wide.

3. Industry Standard Compliance

The coloring, text, and symbols shall meet the requirements of ANSI Z535, latest revision.

4. Color

All inks used shall be UV inhibited. The sign shall be four colors, ANSI Z535 Safety Orange, Safety Red, Safety Yellow, and black on a white background. Text shall be in black ink unless otherwise indicated below:

• Safety Orange: Signal word panel and exclamation mark.
• Safety Red: Shock symbol at end of wire. Text, "KEEP OUT, HIGH VOLTAGE INSIDE, AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ONLY".
• Safety Yellow: Shock symbol through body.

5. Material

Signs shall be made of durable, weather-resistant 0.090" thick fiberglass. The sign material and inks shall be UV inhibited. Each sign shall have a 1/8" diameter hole in each corner, spaced 9/32" equally from center of hole to each edge.

6. Backing

The backing of each sign shall have a 0.032" white closed-cell foam adhesive covering 100% of the sign. The outer side of the adhesive backing shall be protected from contamination before installation with a protective covering.
