1. Scope
This specification applies to the flat-surfaced high-density linear polyethylene sign illustrated in Fig. 1 below. This sign will be used indoors and outdoors on various surfaces.
2. Size
Sign shall be 11" tall x 8-1/2" wide.
3. Industry Standard Compliance
The coloring, text, and symbols shall meet the requirements of ANSI Z535, latest revision.
4. Color
The sign shall be two colors, ANSI Z535 Safety Red and black on a white background. Text shall be in black ink unless otherwise indicated below:
- Signal word panel and exclamation mark - Safety Red
- Text - panel word DANGER and triangle symbol, white reversed out copy.
- Cigarette symbol - Safety Red circle and slash.
- Match symbol - Safety Red circle, slash, and flame symbol.
- Text - HAZARDOUS AREA, HYDROGEN AREA, AND CORROSIVE LIQUID - Safety Red.
5. Material
Signs shall be made of durable, weather-resistant 0.080" thick polyethylene. The sign material and inks shall be UV inhibited. Each sign shall have a 3/16" diameter hole in each corner, spaced 3/16" equally from one side (9/32" edge-tocenter).
