1. Scope

This specification covers the requirements for manufacturing and supplying a reinforced concrete pad having the

dimensions and features indicated above in Figure 1.

2. Application

The concrete pad specified in this standard will be used to install 3-phase 600A 15kV pad-mounted J-box cabinets (Cat. ID 1002150) having base dimensions of 7'-0" long x 2'-6" wide on 7'-0" long x 4'-8" wide x 4'-0" deep concrete vaults (Cat. ID 1001608). This pad will not be subject to vehicular traffic.

3. Reference Standards

Reference is made in this specification to the following standards, the latest editions, amendments, and supplements of which shall apply, unless otherwise stated in this specification or in associated purchasing documents:

ASTM A615	Specification for Deformed and Plain Billet-Steel Bars for Concrete Reinforcement
ASTM C33	Specification for Concrete Aggregates
ASTM C150	Specification for Portland Cement

4. Material ID Number

This specification applies to District Material ID Number 1002153.

5. Materials

The pad shall be manufactured of concrete meeting a minimum compressive strength of 4000 psi after 28 days.
The concrete shall meet the requirements of ASTM C150 and C33. Reinforcing bars shall be size No. 3 meeting the requirements of ASTM A615.

6. Lifting Inserts

Lifting inserts shall be 3/4” diameter threaded type manufactured of corrosion resistant stainless steel. Lifting inserts shall be protected with removable plastic caps.

7. Concrete Finish

The top surface of the concrete pad shall have a brush finish. All top edges shall be tooled.

8. Packaging

Each pad shall be shipped on a disposable wooden pallet suitable for handling with a forklift.
