1. Scope

This specification applies to steel brackets used for below-the-hook lifting of overhead transformer banks for single pole installation using transformer cluster mounting racks

2. Reference Standards

Unless otherwise stated in this specification, brackets shall meet all applicable provisions of the latest revisions of the following standards:

3. Material ID Number

This specification applies to the following District Material ID Number: — 1000215.

4. Material

Transformer lifting brackets shall be fabricated from 5/8” x 2” G41400 alloy steel bar. Brackets shall be heat treated after fabrication to a minimum yield strength of 65 ksi.

5. Testing

Each bracket shall be proof-tested to 125% of rated load. The manufacturer shall provide a certified test report of said proof-test.

6. Identification

Each bracket shall be stamped or engraved prior to heat treating with the following information:

Manufacturer Name
