1. Scope

This specification applies to mounting plates used to attach 115kV vertical post insulators (Cat. ID 937774) to 18 foot fiberglass or wood crossarms.

2. Material ID Numbers

This specification applies to the following District Material ID Number: 896946

3. Reference Standards

Insulator mounting plates supplied under this Specification shall conform to the characteristics, definitions, terminology, and requirements of the latest editions, amendments, and supplements of the applicable parts of the following standards, except as otherwise specified herein.

ASTM A-153

4. Physical Characteristics

Insulator mounting plates shall be dimensioned per the drawings above. Minor variations in dimensions and design may be acceptable with prior District approval.

5. Construction

Insulator mounting plates shall be manufactured from carbon steel and shall be free of sharp edges, burrs, cracks and other imperfections. Plates shall be hot dip galvanized in accordance with ASTM A-153.

6. Packaging

Insulator mounting plates shall be packaged in heavy duty boxes in quantities of 2 per box.
