1. Scope

This specification applies to pole mounted fiberglass standoff brackets for mounting a cable termination and surge arrester on a single phase underground primary riser.

2. Reference Standards

Except as modified herein, the brackets shall meet the applicable requirements of the latest revisions of ASTM A-153.

Standoff brackets shall be dimensioned per the following drawing:

5. Construction

The standoff bracket shall consist of nonremovable base and end fittings permanently secured to a fiberglass rod. Base and end fittings shall be manufactured from cast aluminum alloy or hot-dip galvanized malleable iron. Fiberglass rod shall have a weather and ultraviolet resistant coating and shall be munsel gray in color.

7. Identification

Each bracket shall be permanently marked with the manufacturer's name or logo.
