1. Scope

This material standard applies to brackets for mounting fiberglass crossarms with 12" and 18" 3/4" mounting bolt centers on tubular steel poles.

2. Material ID Numbers

This material standard applies to District Material ID Number 1002462.

3. Reference Standards

Unless otherwise stated in this material standard, this bracket shall comply with the latest revisions of the following standards:

ASTM A36/A36M-08 Standard Specification for Carbon Structural Steel
ASTM A153 /A153M-09 Standard Specification for Zinc Coatings (Hot-Dip) on Iron and Steel Hardware

4. Construction

Crossarm mounting brackets shall be:

  1. Fabricated of C8x18.75 structural steel channel meeting the requirements of ASTM A36.
  2. Free of sharp edges, burrs, cracks and other imperfections.
  3. Hot-dip galvanized in accordance with ASTM A153.

Pole mount brackets shall be dimensioned per the following drawing:
