1. Scope

This specification applies to steel plates used to provide a flying tap attachment point for ADSS fiber optic deadends and span guys.

2. Reference Standards

Unless otherwise stated in this specification, brackets shall meet all applicable provisions of the latest revisions of the following standards:

ASTM A36 Standard Specification for Carbon Structural Steel
ASTM A153 Standard Specification for Zinc Coating (Hot-Dip) on Iron and Steel Hardware

3. Material ID Number

This specification applies to the following District Material ID Number: — 1002383.

4. Material

Flying tap plates shall be fabricated from A-36 2" x 3/8" steel flat bar.

5. Construction

Flying tap plates shall be drilled and dimensioned as indicated below. Plates shall be free of sharp edges, burrs, cracks and other imperfections. Plates shall be hot dip galvanized in accordance with ASTM A-153.
