1. Scope
This Specification covers the requirements for steel ground wire protectors mounted on round poles.

3. Reference Standards
All characteristics, definitions, terminology, voltage designations and tests, except as otherwise specified herein, shall be in accordance with the following District and industry standards. When the following standards are superseded by an approved revision, the revision shall apply.

4. Material
Steel ground wire protectors shall be manufactured from A36 mild structural steel. Protectors shall be free of sharp edges, burrs, cracks and other imperfections.
5. Dimensions
Protectors shall be 3" wide x 120" long x 3/16" thick with a 3/16" rise to accommodate mounting on curved poles. Protectors shall have 14 mounting holes, spaced 18" apart and 6" from each end. Mounting holes shall be 5/16" diameter.
6. Packaging
Protectors shall be packaged in banded bundles of 10, with a maximum of 10 bundles per pallet.
