1. Scope
This Material Standard covers the requirements for furnishing and delivering high pressure sodium lamps for use in roadway and area lighting luminaires. The sizes shown in the following characteristics table shall be supplied under this Material Standard as requested on the Special Provisions Sheet. The lamps shall:
- Be manufactured in accordance with ANSI standards for mogul screw base high pressure sodium lamps.
- Be equipped with date marking provisions on their base.
- Provide satisfactory performance in any position.
- Be of a clear design (non-coated).
- Be dual arc-tube type when specified.
2. Characteristics
The following table lists lamp electrical and photometric specifications:

3. Warranty
Each lamp shall carry a manufacturer's warranty for replacement as follows:

2 | 1 new for 1 failed |
3 | 1 new for 2 failed |
4. Packaging Shipping
The lamps shall be packaged in a container suitable for easy handling, storage and protection from damage.
5. General Bidding Conditions
The attached general bidding conditions are made a part of this Material Standard.
6. Evaluation of Bids
The following factors will be considered in the analysis and evaluation of bids and subsequent bid award:
- Past performance of bidder and product
- Completeness of bidder's data
- Conditions of warranty
- Proposed delivery
- Initial cost and escalations.
