1. Scope

This specification covers the requirements for a Traffic vest as shown above. This material specification is an evolving document and may change at any time.

2. Reference Standards

Unless otherwise stated in this specification, the vest shall comply with the latest revisions of the following standards: ANSI/ISEA 107 American National Standard for High-Visibility Safety Apparel and NFPA 701 Standard Methods of Fire Tests for Flame Propagation of Textiles and Films.

3. Material

Vest shall be in compliance will all requirements of ANSI/ISEA 107-2004 Conspicuity Class 2 garment. Vest material shall be in compliance with NFPA 701 (2004).

Vest shall be fluorescent lime Fire Retardant (FR) treated mesh background fabric (up to 12 washes) with 2” vertical and horizontal FR silver reflective strips, as shown, on front and rear of vest, one 360° horizontal stripe and two vertical stripes. Vest shall have a black colored solid bias tape band around the bottom, from the bottom of one side of the front opening of the vest around the neck to the bottom of the other side of the front opening, and around each arm opening. Vest shall have a Velcro hook and loop front closure at least 4" in length and located from the bottom of the vertical retroreflective band upward towards the neckline.

4. Detail

Vest shall have one inside left chest pocket. Vest shall have “PUD” silk-screened in black on the outside upper left breast area with 1” tall lettering. Vest shall have the "PUD" silk-screened in black on the rear of the vest with 4" tall lettering centered between the vertical striping.

5. Durability / Labeling

Vest shall have a sewn-in label(s) indicating vest size, ANSI/ISEA 107-2004 Conspicuity Class 2, ASTM D6413/NFPA 701 (2004) compliance, ANSI/ISEA 107-2004 Section 10 Care Labeling.

6. Packaging

Each vest shall be individually packaged in a clear plastic bag with size labeling shown for shipping and storage.
