1. Scope

This material standard covers the general requirements for manufacturing and supplying all of the District's Flame-Resistant (FR) Bib Overalls.

2. Reference Standards

Where applicable and unless otherwise stated in this specification, garments shall comply with the latest revision of District Material Standard FRCLOTHMAT.

3. FR Uninsulated Bib Overalls

3.1 Material

All materials used shall meet NFPA 70E standard, latest revisions. Uninsulated Bib overalls shall be manufactured using FR Treated 13 oz, 100% Cotton Duck material. All elastic and buckles used in the suspenders shall be FR. All zippers shall be brass. All zipper tape used shall be Nomex® FR. All buttons shall be arc resistant. Waist buttons shall be FR melamine.

3.2 Construction

Uninsulated Bib Overalls shall have a zipper fly. Bib Overalls shall have a high back with elastic suspenders and center-release buckles. Multiple tool and utility pockets shall be included.
Legs shall be chap style, double front construction with ankle-to-thigh leg zippers. Leg zippers shall have protective flaps with snap closures. Waist shall have buttons for adjusting fit.

3.3 Ratings

Uninsulated Bibs shall have a minimum rating of HRC-2 and an Arc Thermal Performance Value (ATPV) of at least 16 cal/cm².

4. FR Insulated Bib Overalls

4.1 Material

All materials used shall meet NFPA 70E standard, latest revisions. Insulated Bib Overalls shall be manufactured using FR Treated 13 oz, 100% Cotton Duck material. Insulating lining shall be 11.5 oz, FR modacrylic batting quilted to FR twill face cloth. All elastic and buckles used in the suspenders shall be FR. All zippers shall be brass. All zipper tape used shall be Nomex® FR. All buttons shall be arc-resistant. Waist buttons shall be FR melamine.

4.2 Construction

Insulated Bib Overalls shall have a quilt lining and zipper fly. Bib Overalls shall have a high back with elastic suspenders and center-release buckles. Multiple tool and utility pockets shall be included. Legs shall be chap style, double front construction with ankle-to-thigh leg zippers. Leg zippers shall have protective flaps with snap closures. Waist shall have buttons for adjusting fit.

4.3 Ratings

Insulated Bibs shall have a minimum rating of HRC-4 and an Arc Thermal Performance Value (ATPV) of at least 54 cal/cm².
