1. Scope

This material standard covers the general requirements for manufacturing and supplying all of the District's Flame-Resistant (FR) Jackets.

2. Reference Standards

Where applicable and unless otherwise stated in this specification, garments shall comply with the latest revision of District Material Standard FRCLOTHMAT.

3. FR Insulated Work Jacket

3.1 Material

All materials used shall meet NFPA 70E standard, latest revision. All thread used shall be FR rated. All closures, zippers, tapes, draw cords, snaps and buttons used shall be FR rated and arc-resistant.

3.2 Construction

Insulated Work Jacket shall be constructed in a heavy duty, work coat style. Insulated Work Coats shall be designed to accommodate a removable hood.

3.3 Ratings

Insulated Work Jacket shall have a minimum rating of HRC-4 and an Arc Thermal Performance Value (ATPV) of at least 54 cal/cm².

4. FR INSULATED BOMBER JACKET

4.1 Material

All materials used shall meet NFPA 70E standard, latest revision. All thread used shall be FR rated. Fabric shall be wind/water resistant. All closures, zippers, tapes, draw cords, snaps and buttons used shall be FR rated and arc-resistant.

4.2 Construction

Insulated Bomber Jackets shall be constructed in a heavy duty, bomber jacket style. Insulated Bomber Jackets shall be designed to accommodate a removable hood.

4.3 Ratings

Insulated Bomber Jackets shall have a minimum rating of HRC-3 and an Arc Thermal Performance Value (ATPV) of at least 34 cal/cm².

5. FR SHELL JACKET

5.1 Material

All materials used shall meet NFPA 70E standard, latest revision. All thread used shall be FR rated. Fabric shall be wind/water resistant. All closures, zippers, tapes, draw cords, snaps and buttons used shall be FR rated and arc resistant.

5.2 Construction

Shell Jackets shall be designed to accommodate a removable hood.

5.3 Ratings

Shell Jackets shall have a minimum rating of HRC-3 and an Arc Thermal Performance Value (ATPV) of at least 26.3 cal/cm².

6. FR Soft-Shell Jacket

6.1 Material

All materials used shall meet NFPA 70E standard, latest revision. All thread used shall be FR rated. Fabric shall be wind/water resistant. All closures, zippers, tapes, draw cords, snaps and buttons used shall be FR rated and arc resistant.

6.2 Construction

Soft-Shell Jackets shall be designed to accommodate a removable hood.

6.3 Ratings

Soft-Shell Jackets shall have a minimum rating of HRC-2 and an Arc Thermal Performance Value (ATPV) of at least 17.9 cal/cm².

7. FR Fleece Jacket

7.1 Material

All materials used shall meet NFPA 70E standard, latest revision. All thread used shall be FR rated. Fabric shall be lightweight, wind resistant and retain body heat. All closures, zippers, tapes, draw cords, snaps and buttons used shall be FR rated and arc-resistant.

7.2 Construction

Fleece Jackets shall have full zip front. Shoulders and forearms shall have reinforced rip-stop fabric.
Fleece Jackets shall have armpit ventilation for body temperature control. Fleece Jackets shall have drop-tail rear hem and longer sleeves for extra coverage when reaching.

7.3 Ratings

Fleece Jackets shall have a minimum rating of HRC-2 and an Arc Thermal Performance Value (ATPV) of at least 17.9 cal/cm².

8. FR Flack Jacket

8.1 Material

All materials used shall meet NFPA 70E standard, latest revision. All thread used shall be FR rated. Fabric shall be wind/water resistant. All closures, zippers, tapes, draw cords, snaps and buttons used shall be FR rated and arc resistant.

8.2 Construction

Flack Jackets shall have full zip front with hood designed for wear under hardhats. Fabric used shall provide stretch for freedom of movement. Flack Jackets shall have a drop-tail rear hem and extra-long sleeves to provide additional coverage when reaching. Flack Jackets shall have durable fabric strategically placed in high wear areas for durability.

8.3 Ratings

Flack Jackets shall have a minimum rating of HRC-2 and an Arc Thermal Performance Value (ATPV) of at least 16 cal/cm².

9. FR Stretch Jacket

9.1 Material

All materials used shall meet NFPA 70E standard, latest revision. All thread used shall be FR rated. Fabric shall be highly breathable and wickable to keep skin dry. All closures, zippers, tapes, draw cords, snaps and buttons used shall be FR rated and arc-resistant.

9.2 Construction

Stretch Jackets shall have full-zip front. Fabric used shall provide stretch for freedom of movement. Stretch Jackets shall have an extended inseam construction that improves range of motion.

9.3 Ratings

Stretch Jackets shall have a minimum rating of HRC-2 and an Arc Thermal Performance Value (ATPV) of at least 15 cal/cm².
