1. Scope

This material standard covers the general requirements for manufacturing and supplying all of the District's Flame-Resistant (FR) High Visibility Work-wear.

2. Reference Standards

Where applicable and unless otherwise stated in this specification, garments shall comply with the latest revision of District Material Standard FRCLOTHMAT.

3. Reflectivity

All high visibility material/fabric used shall be ANSI-107 compliant. All clothing shall be rated as Class 3, Level 2 or higher. Fabric shall be ANSI Hi-Vis Yellow. All reflective material shall be 3M™ Scotchlite™ brand, segmented design, silver in color.

4. FR Hi-Viz Sweatshirt

4.1 Material

All materials used shall meet NFPA 70E standard, latest revision. All thread used shall be FR rated. All closures, zippers, tapes, draw cords, snaps and buttons used shall be FR rated and arc-resistant.

4.2 Construction

Hi-Viz Sweatshirts shall be ANSI 107 Class 3, Level 2 compliant.

4.3 Ratings

Hi-Viz Sweatshirts shall have a minimum rating of HRC-2 and an Arc Thermal Performance Value (ATPV) of at least 24 cal/cm².

5. FR Hi-Viz Long-Sleeve Shirt

5.1 Material

All materials used shall meet NFPA 70E standard, latest revision. All thread used shall be FR rated. All closures, zippers, tapes, draw cords, snaps and buttons used shall be FR rated and arc-resistant.

5.2 Construction

Hi-Viz Long-Sleeve Shirts shall be ANSI 107 Class 3, Level 2 compliant.

5.3 Ratings

Hi-Viz Long-Sleeve Shirts shall have a minimum rating of HRC-2 and an Arc Thermal Performance Value (ATPV) of at least 8.6 cal/cm².
