1. Scope

This specification covers the requirements for the District's Flame-Resistant Rain pants.

2. Reference Standards

Unless otherwise stated in this specification, the rain pants shall comply with the latest revisions of the following Standards:

3. General Requirements

Pants shall be in compliance with Performance Class E high visibility background and retro-reflective material standards as listed in the latest revision of ANSI/ISEA 107.

3.1 Style

The pants shall be pull-on trouser type with a 2" Velcro adjustable waist and belt loops around the waist.

3.2 Fabric

The fabric shall be an 8.3 oz, fast drying, lightweight, breathable, waterproof, and wind resistant GORE PYRAD fabric technology. Fabric shall be Fire Resistant in compliance with referenced NFPA and ASTM standards.

3.3 Alterations

Alterations shall be defined as Short, Double-Short, Tall, and Double-Tall.
Short sizes will shorten pant length by 2". Double-Short sizes will shorten pant length by 4". Tall sizes will add 2" to the pant length. Double-Tall sizes will add 4" to the pant length.
The manufacturer shall alter pant based on District specifications provided at the time of order.

3.4 Closure

The pants shall have a snap fly tab closure at the opening.

3.5 Color

The pants shall be Hi-Viz Yellow/ Black in color.

3.6 Legs

Each leg shall have a boot-access covered zip closure to the knee, a 1-way YKK heavy-duty zipper, full length triple storm flap, and a Velcro closure to secure flap.

3.7 Retro-reflective Film

Pants shall have two 2" segmented silver retro-reflective film strips made of 3M Schotchlite FR segmented silver reflective trim located around the knee and ankle of each leg.

3.8 Pockets

The pants shall also have a tool pocket on the side of one leg above the knee.

3.9 Care Labeling

Pants shall have care marking and laundry labeling in compliance with ASTM Labeling Requirements and Items 10 and 11 of ANSI/ISEA 107 sewn into the inside of the rear waist area.

5. Packaging

Each rain pant shall be individually packaged in a clear plastic bag with size labeling shown for shipping and storage.
