1. Scope
This specification covers the requirements for the District's Flame-Resistant Rain jackets.
2. Reference Standards
Unless otherwise stated in this specification, the jackets shall comply with the latest revisions of the following Standards:

3. General Requirements
Jackets shall be in compliance with Performance Class 3 high visibility background and retro-reflective material standards as listed in the latest revision of ANSI/ISEA 107.
3.1 Color
The jacket shall be Hi-Viz Yellow/ Black in color.
3.2 Fabric
The fabric shall be an 8.3 oz, fast drying, lightweight, breathable, waterproof, and wind resistant GORE PYRAD fabric technology. Fabric shall be Fire Resistant in compliance with referenced NFPA and ASTM standards. The jacket shall include a D-ring access for a fall protection harness. A hanger loop shall be sewn in on the interior of the back neckline.
3.3 Length
The jacket shall be 35" or 30" long as specified at time of order.
3.4 Alterations
Alterations shall be defined as Short, Double-Short, Tall, and Double-Tall.
Short sizes will shorten sleeve length by 1.5" and the hem length by 3". Double-Short sizes will shorten sleeve length by 3" and the hem length by 6". Tall sizes will add 1.5" to the sleeve length and 3" to the hem length.
Double-Tall sizes will add 3" to the sleeve length and 6" to the hem length.
The manufacturer shall alter jackets based on District specifications provided at the time of order.
3.5 Closure
The jacket shall have a covered zip front closure with zipper pull, full length triple storm flap, and a Velcro closure to secure flap. The 35” jacket shall have a 2-way YKK heavy duty zipper. The 30” jacket shall have a 1-way YKK heavy duty zipper. Each jacket cuff shall have adjustment straps that are secured with a Velcro closure. The 30" jacket shall have drawstring cord locks at the bottom hem to allow waist to be adjusted.
3.6 Pockets
The 35" jacket shall have 2 front pockets on each front hip. Each pocket shall include a top flap with a hook and loop closure. The 35" and 30" jacket shall both include 2 fleece lined hand warmer pockets on each side of the jacket.
3.7 Retro-reflective Film
The 35" jacket shall have 2" segmented silver retro-reflective film strips made of 3M Scotchlite FR segmented silver reflective trim around the chest front and back harness style, around the hip front and back along bottom of jacket, vertically down front zipper flap from collar to hip, and around each arm at elbow.
The 30" jacket shall have 2" segmented silver retro-reflective film strips made of 3M Scotchlite FR segmented silver reflective trim around the chest front and back harness style, vertically down front zipper flap from collar to hip, and around each arm at elbow.
3.8 Hood
The jacket shall have an optional detachable hood which secures to the jacket by a YKK heavy-duty zipper located around the collar of the jacket. The optional hood will be included as specified at time of order.
3.9 Identification
The jacket shall have 1, water and UV resistant, District logo heat-applied to the back of the jacket on the black fabric. The logo shall be approximately 3" in height and 8" in width. The logo shall be reflective silver in color.
The logo shall be centered below the mid-back hem, just below the NSA FR Diamond.
The jacket shall have 1, water and UV resistant, employee name heat-applied to the left chest of the jacket.
The name shall be no more than 4" wide. The typeface shall be a black, block style font that is clearly legible.
Characters shall be no taller than 3/4" each and a proof drawing of the font style shall be provided prior to the time of application for District approval. A list of names will be provided to the manufacturer at the time of order.
3.10 Care Labeling
Jacket shall have care marking and laundry labeling in compliance with ASTM Labeling Requirements and Items 10 and 11 of ANSI/ISEA 107 sewn into the underside of top flap on one of the pockets or inside the front lower left or right side of the zipper closure.

5. Packaging
Each jacket shall be individually packaged in a clear plastic bag with size labeling shown for shipping and storage.
