- To help minimize the time required for field personnel to locate fault indicators, pad-mounted equipment and vaults that contain fault indicators shall be labeled. Engineers are to include fault indicator signage when specifying material on work orders.
- The adhesive-backed label identified by Compatible Unit W0135, Fig. 1, shall be applied near the upper right hand corner on the front of pad-mounted transformers and J-box cabinets containing fault indicators. On pad-mounted switch cabinets the label shall be applied near the upper outside corner of the door(s) of the compartment(s) containing fault indicators.
- If the front of the pad-mounted equipment does not face the road, an additional label shall be applied near the upper right-hand corner on the side of the equipment that faces the road.
- The Lexan (polycarbonate) plate identified by Compatible Unit W0136, Fig. 2, shall be installed near the upper right-hand corner of the cover of submersible vaults containing fault indicators. These plates are to be installed using RTV silicone sealant (MID 955073) and/or #8 stainless steel self-drilling screws (MID 1001615).
