Notes:
- The District's current standard for new 600A 15kV UG cable installations is compact stranded 1100 kcmil Al jacketed concentric neutral cable (MID 1002726) instead of compressed stranded 1000 kcmil Al jacketed drain wire shielded cable (MID 1000977 - EPR insulation and MID 832031 TRXLPE insulation). The 1100 kcmil cable is terminated with Compatible Unit T1107 with no MID substitutions.
Compatible Unit T1107 can be used to terminate 1000 kcmil Al compressed stranded jacketed drain wire shielded UG power cable if Shield Adapter Kit MID 1000198 is substituted for Sealing Kit MID 785389. - Always refer to elbow manufacturers' enclosed installation instructions for cable cutback dimensions.
- One of the components in a deadbreak elbow kit is a Test Point Cap. Replacement Test Point Caps are available from stock in the warehouse, see MID 1001951.
- A sealing kit is not required for elbow terminations installed on unjacketed 350 kcmil Al concentric neutral UG cable.
Notes:
- This Compatible Unit utilizes a 1000 kcmil Al deadbreak elbow kit for 750 kcmil Al 15kV cable by replacing the cable terminal and cable adapter packaged in the kit with a 750 kcmil cable terminal (item E) and a 750 kcmil cable adapter (item F). Return the leftover 1000 kcmil cable terminal (MID 785488) and 1000 kcmil cable adapter (MID 785470) to the warehouse.
- Deadbreak elbow kits include Test Point Caps. Replacement Test Point Caps are available from stock in the warehouse, see MID 1001951.
- The compact stranded 1100 kcmil Al cable currently used by the District has essentially the same cross-sectional dimensions as the compressed stranded 1000 kcmil Al cable that used to be our standard.
