Notes:

  1. The most common application for the flat backed #2817 deadend tee will be to deadend conductors on steel transmission poles having flat surfaces where deadend tees were not provided for in the original pole design.
  2. After drilling bolt holes in a steel pole, spray-galvanize the edges of each hole to prevent corrosion. Use cold-spray galvanizing compound MID 464404.
  3. Specify two 3/4-inch diameter machine bolts with length as necessary to fit the pole diameter at the mounting height, plus a minimum of 3-inches to accommodate deadend tee and mounting hardware thicknesses. See Compatible Unit page R0600-R0665 for a selection of the District's standard length 3/4-inch machine bolts.
  4. The #2817 deadend tee has an ultimate tensile strength of 60,000 lb and a 3/4-inch machine bolt has an ultimate tensile strength of 18,350 lb.
