- Use 4/0 copper for ground loop inside vault. Use 1/0 copper for connecting ground plates to 4/0 copper ground loop.
- Ground plate must be installed a minimum of 5’ deep to be considered a made electrode suitable for grounding equipment such as transformers and j-boxes. Cover plate with tamped select backfill. If vault is to be backfilled with gravel or sand bury plate below backfill or install 5/8” ground rod(s) per Compatible Unit N0321.
- Ground plates are preferred for grounding during vault installation. Use ground rods for grounding vaults already set and backfilled. Refer to Compatible Units N0320 - N0321.
