Note:
- This is a 15kV class deadfront Metal Oxide Varistor Elbow (M.O.V.E.) surge arrester rated 10kV duty-cycle and 8.4kV MCOV. Using a clampstick, it can be installed or removed from energized or de-energized bushings having a 200A 15kV class interface.
- The elbow surge arrester is for special primary underground applications on the District’s 12470 Grd-Y/7200 volt distribution system, e.g., the Hat Island terminus of the District's submarine cable. It is not intended for general use throughout the District's system.
- The arrester comes equipped with a #4 AWG flexible copper ground lead, 36" long. A copper C-crimp connector (item A in the above material list) should be used to connect the arrester ground lead to the copper ground wire (typically, #2 AWG solid SD bare copper) installed in District vaults.
