- “Snowshoes” are used to provide up to 200' of reserve fiber optic cable storage in-line with the cable span. Cable reserves avoid splicing fiber optic cable by supplying extra cable for future pole or line re-locations. Snowshoe assemblies should be installed a minimum of 1 assembly per every 20 spans in rural settings and every 10 spans in urban areas and along busy roads. Each snowshoe assembly is complete with all required hardware and instructions.
- When installing snowshoe above the neutral locate the support up to 2' above it to prevent the snowshoe from coming in contact with the neutral mid-span.
