Notes:
- Expanding duct plugs are intended to seal unoccupied “blank” conduits to provide a reliable barrier against liquids, gases, small animals and silt to generally improve the quality of the underground work environment. These plugs are watertight and airtight to 30 psi. They can help reduce vault pumping time and provide a clear unobstructed duct when cable is pulled in. Expanding duct plugs should be installed in the ends of spare and empty conduits that terminate in vaults.
- Tapered duct plugs are not designed to withstand water pressure. They should be used for capping the top end of empty conduit risers and for buried empty conduit ends, like those in road crossings.
